Ancient history and Egyptian culture

Al Qusair (or El Quseir) is an original town which roots go back over 5000 years. If you want to experience authentic Egyptian life, this town is the place to be in the Marsa Alam region. Shalateen City, essentially a trading market town, lies at 230km south of Marsa Alam and is Egypt's last city before the border with Sudan. Here you can experience the region's biggest camel market, where camels from Sudan are sold for either meat or milk. It's a real spectacle you don't want to miss out on!
